| It is with profound sadness, the Union Bridge Fire Company, Inc. announces the passing of Active Honorary Life Member David N. Warehime on August 24, 2026. Dave has been a member of the fire company since January, 1982; serving for 44 years. Dave was an emergency responder in his early years as a member of the company and served as a Trustee for many years. He helped at countless fundraisers including Sunday Breakfasts, Bingo’s and the Pit Beef stand during our annual carnivals and other events.
Dave was employed at Crouse Ford in Taneytown for many years and then worked for Mason Dixon Auto Parts (NAPA) in Taneytown delivering parts until recently. He is married to our company’s Recording Secretary, Barb Warehime.
The officers and members of the company extend our deepest heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Barb and the rest of Dave’s family and friends.
The Viewing will be held on Sunday, August 30th from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Locust Street, Union Bridge, MD. A Fire Department Memorial Service will be at 7:30 PM that same night.
The Funeral will be at the same location on Monday, August 31st at 10:30 AM, followed by a gathering at the Fire Station with a meal.

David Nelson Warehime, age 72, of Union Bridge passed away peacefully at Carroll Hospital on Monday, August 24, 2026. Born July 16, 1954 in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Chester Warehime and Betty Warehime. He is survived by his wife Barbara Warehime.
He was a graduate of Westminster High School class of 1973. He was a driver for Napa Auto Parts in Taneytown for many years. He was a member of Union Bridge Fire Company, Littlestown Eagles, Red Knight Motorcycles and a social member of the VFW in Union Bridge. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and bowling.
He is survived by sisters Debra Coker, Donna Miller (Jeff), family friend Trent Funt, brother-in-law Ralph Snoots as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends from Union Bridge Fire Company.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway St., Union Bridge.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, August 31 at the funeral home, with Clifford Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Taneytown.
