Activities Center/Social Hall Rental
In 1985, the Union Bridge Fire Company built an addition for the purpose of raising funds to help us provide emergency services to the town of Union Bridge and it's surrounding communities. This 70' x 100' addition included more kitchen and storage space, large bathrooms, a "Tap Room", a stage and a coat room. The spacious 'Main Hall' provides 4,000 square feet of open space, allowing up to 450 people to attend your function, depending on the type of event. A comfortable atmosphere is provided for our patrons with the use of chandelier lighting, a public address system, a 500 square foot raised stage, a variety of table options (round and rectangular), a bingo machine with a lighted board, a video/slide projection system and a variety of podiums for use during meetings, conferences or training sessions. Our well maintained Activities Center/Social Hall provides an excellent space for all of your needs.
Today, the Activities Center/Social Hall is available for use, not only by the Fire Company, but also by the public. Currently, several organizations use the Social Hall regularly, for anything from meetings to banquets. The Social Hall can be used by the public for Weddings and /or Wedding Receptions, Conferences, Training, Banquets, Banquet/Dances, Bull and Oyster/Shrimp Roasts, Bingo, Bereavement Luncheons, emergency Church services or a variety of other social gatherings.
With your help in design, we set-up the tables and chairs to fit your desired needs. We can also arrange special table settings for options like Hors d'oeurve tables, Cake tables and a variety of other special settings that your event may require.
Our Fire Company can also provide the food, food preparation and serving services for your event. At the bottom of this page, you will find the "Events Menu" provided by the Fire Company. You may choose to hire an outside caterer for this service, however, they are not permitted to prepare foods at our facility and we are not responsible for the content of any food they serve.

Elizabeth Burdette, our 'Booking Agent', is responsible for Activities Center/Social Hall rentals.
George Wentz, our 'Purchasing Agent', is responsible for the procurement of food and serving supplies.
TERMS and PRICES
(As of January 1, 2012)
SOCIAL HALL RENTAL
1. Social Hall rental is $150.00 per hour with a 3 hour minimum. NO clean-up fee.
2. Rental time starts at the scheduled time of the event. A $150.00 deposit is required to hold the date requested.
3. NO event will be scheduled past midnight on the day of the event.
4. If an outside caterer is used, there is a $100.00 usage fee for the use of our refrigerators and ice machine.
5. ALL banquets are served "Buffet Style".
6. Additional rental items include; PA System - $25.00
7. Final head count must be given 7 days prior to the event, NO EXCEPTIONS!
8. NO SMOKING!!! is allowed in the building.
9. Absolutely NO birdseed or rice is allowed in the building.
10. Cancelation of rental must be made to the "Booking Agent", 7 days prior to the event for a refund of the deposit.
BULL ROAST, SHRIMP/OYSTER FEEDS, 25/30 WEEK CLUB
1. Social Hall rental is $750.00 for the first 3 hours and $100.00 per hour thereafter.
2. 25 or 30 Week Clubs pay $200.00 per 100 people, plus cost of the food .
3. If fried chicken is included in the menu, there is an additional $50.00 per case "frying fee".
NON-PROFIT GROUP BINGO'S
1. Social Hall rental is $150.00 for 3 hours maximum.
2. The Ladies Auxiliary and/or the Fire Company, will provide food and retain all profits from the sale of food.
3. Union Bridge Fire Company members ONLY, will operate the Bingo machine.
MISCELLANEOUS RENTALS
1. Annually scheduled meetings are $50.00
2. Churches may use the building for services if an emergency situation at their place of worship occurs, so long as the building has not been previously rented or is being used by the Fire Company. The church members are requested to assist in the set-up of the Social Hall for their services.
3. Bereavement lunches for non-members are $250.00 for 2 hours, plus the cost of food.
CHILDREN'S BIRTHDAY PARTIES AT THE FIREHOUSE
1. "You" provide the food, decorations and children. Parents are responsible for set-up and clean-up.
2. "We" provide the hall, tables, chairs and ice!
3. "We" will provide fire helmets, fire safety items and stickers.
4. "We" will host a short fire prevention discussion with the children, help the children try on real firefighter turn-out gear, give a short tour of the apparatus, let the children sit inside the apparatus and weather permitting, give each child the opportunity to use a real fire hose!
5. The entire tour and party will not exceed 2 hours. Contact our "Booking Agent" to see if your date is available.
6. Unfortunately, due to insurance liability, we cannot give rides in the fire apparatus.
7. While there is no set fee for services provided for Birthday parties, we do ask for a minimum donation of $100.00
REGULATIONS
1. A deposit of $150.00, payable at the time of the contract signing, is required to hold the date of the event.
2. If the Carroll County Snow Emergency Plan goes into effect, the event will be canceled by the Fire Company and may be rescheduled to another available date.
3. SPECIAL INSURANCE: A certificate of liability insurance must be presented to our "Booking Agent" with the contract. If not received, the event will be canceled ant the deposit will be forfeited. Determination of any damage(s), will be the responsibility of the Fire Company.
4. The Union Bridge Fire Company, Inc., can not be held responsible for the contents of any foods that are not prepared within the fire hall kitchen facilities by members of the Ladies Auxiliary and/or the Fire Company, that is to be consumed during the event by the Lessee and/or guests.
5. The Union Bridge Fire Company, Inc., can not be held responsible for any accidents occurring on the fire company property.
6. The Union Bridge Fire Company, Inc., reserves the right to reject any or all requests for Social Hall rental.
